Words of Wisdom

If enough of us choose to change even one small thing, together we have the power to change anything.

Renelle

My poor girl! She was playing with Jay chasing a squirrel (no not a real one!) and she just went nuts and started tearing around the apartment. Jay was standing in front of me so I did not see exactly what happened, but all of the sudden I heard this loud thud and I mean it was HARD. After that her energy deflated fast! She just walked in circles. I called her to me to check her out. No blood, or bumps or bruises, nor were her eyes glazes, as far as I can tell. Then she just laid down.

We called the vet and said as long as she is eating and drinking normally she should be fine, but keep an eye on her and bring her in tomorrow she is not doing anything normally.

We she was enthusiastically eating when we played Alert and when I gave her a CET Chew, so I think she is fine.

I thought she looked SOOO cute sleeping on a pillow so here are a couple of shots

Here she is sleeping and snoring....

(I'll try adding this video later.)

Peace!

Arcata Marsh ~ 26 May 2010

We headed over to the Marsh for another loop in between yet another rainy day. However before we got there we went by the Audiologist to get new tubes (doctor's up here are soooo lame! They don't call to remind you of your appointments, yet they make you make an appointment to get new tubes! A 3 minute event!) Anyway I saw this bird hopping around the bushes in front of my car.

The Marsh

It was sunny when we arrived.

Not for long though!

Over half way through it started to get cloudy and windy. See the ripples in the water and the grass blowing to the side?

It started to sprinkle when we were about 3/4 through.

By the time we were 90% done it was raining rather hard. Check out the rain drops in the pond.

We had to run from the end of the loop back to the car!

All wet!

Heading home to dry off

What to do on a rainy day?

Well if you were a dog and nice tummy rub that makes you smile is an excellent idea!

Look at that smile!!!!!! My person is soooo good at this!

In addition my person decided a ride to the library was in order.

We got several books. None for me though. Oh well, can't read any way.

I love looking out the window as we drive, Don't worry we were at a stop light!

Peace!

The flowers were beautiful.

Dead trees on the cliff over looking the trail.

We had a nice walk. Even though it was overcast, it was warm.

This is our first trip to the Marsh. We went to the Interpretive Center and then walkd around the Log Pond AKA Butcher's Slough Trail. It was a hot day, but it was nice since there was no rain!

Arcata Marsh ~ 9 May 2010

Renelle and I walked up to Klopp Lake along on the Arcata Bay. It was rather windy, but the day was beautiful!

Railroad tracks that run through the Marsh, this in not part of the old lumber tracks that went from the Jacoby warehouse to the Bay.

Egret.

Low tide at the Bay

Klopp Lake, I think the old railroad past through this lake.

The BSS Building at HSU. You can see HSU from almost anywhere in Arcata.

What is left of the pilings from the old railroad. You can only see this at low tide.

We walked to the other side of Lake Klopp along Mt.Trashmore. The Poppies are in bloom every where in Arcata!
