Words of Wisdom

If enough of us choose to change even one small thing, together we have the power to change anything.

Musing about C&W

Well, today is the last day at C&W and the SML Group. I must admit I am sad. On Wednesday after I said good-bye to Bill I sat for a moment and felt a pang within my heart, then asked myself if I was doing the right thing. Despite the momentary pang of sadness my heart was still light and I knew without a doubt that moving to Arcata and returning to school was the right thing to do.

I had a lot of fun working with everyone at the LA South Office (yes, Chris even you, how's Texas?...by the way ask Rob for my e-mail, we can chat then). It was the most fun I have had in a long time going to work. Everyone has been so kind, helpful, fun and what a pleasant atmosphere to work in!

It is strange thinking that I don't have to get up at 6:00 a.m. (not that I really got up!) to go to work and spend eight hours in an office. I'm not quite sure what I will be doing yet, but when I get there I'll let you know!

Hey, anyone have any commercial real estate needs in the southern region of Los Angeles, look up Cushman and Wakefield LA South Office....call Sinfield, Maher, Loderstedt or Smith (sorry Rob had to include Rusty), you can't go wrong!

Peace!
:-)

Christmas Musings

Merry Christmas!!!
Not to long ago an Aunt of mine sent me this letter/poem called My Birthday. It is from Jesus talking about how everyone is celebrating, giving each other presents, and eating. Yet very few people invited the birthday boy! I don't know about you, but not being invited to your own birthday party sucks! (I do not say this from experience! I just know it would suck.)

As I traveled through this day, I noticed how I would "drift" from the Reason for the Season. Not intentionally, it's just we get so caught up in the giving, the getting, the celebrating and a ton of food (not that food was really in the picture today) and...we simply don't pay attention.
You know it doesn't have to be this way. There is a Catholic Church here in my hometown that as part of its Christmas celebration, after they place the baby Jesus in the manger Santa Claus approaches the Nativity Scene and kneels before the baby Jesus. The first time I saw this, I was very impressed. What a cool way of combining the true meaning of the season and a secular image.
Santa Claus really is a servant of God. There are many examples of people through out history and various cultures that Santa Claus represents. St. Nicholas is one, but he goes by many names. He spreads the truth of God by sharing love with his neighbor. Simply put I know...I'm just tired woke up way to early. So....

Joy to the world!
The Lord is come:
Let earth receive her King.
Let every heart prepare Him room,
And heaven and nature sing,
Merry Christmas and God bless!

From City Girl to Small Town Girl

Scary thought.
Going from Los Angeles to a small University town. From sunny and warm to rainy and cold during the winter.
Yet, I am excited and thrilled about this up coming move. A week and a half to the move to be exact. A 12 hour drive...
I will miss the availability of the museums, play houses, Hollywood, family, friends, the sun and the surf (not that I took advantage of any of these things. Just knowing they were close by is what matters. Well, you know what they say, you don't appreciate what you have until you don't have it anymore.
One thing I will not miss is the Pacific Ocean...Arcata is a beach city.
Okay, enough for one evening. I'm tired and I have some baking to do for Christmas Dinner.
