My Birthday

Jay and Amanda got together and threw me a Birthday party today. Jay's idea was to make it into a 4th Birthday! :-) It was quite cute. So we had saltine crackers, Honey Nut Cheerios, Sugar Cookies, Amanda made a Chocolate Cake with ice cream.

We had awesome company, great conversations and a fun time. It was a beautiful sunny day here in Northern Humboldt County today, so here are the pictures of a fun day!

Renelle is sitting with Selena on one of the patio decks. Apparently there was a bear around that area of the property a few days ago and Selena said she was not thrilled.

Renelle sun bathing and getting a belly rub! She does not care where she is along as she gets a belly rub, she is happy!

Selena got done sun bathing. Alanna putting on her roller blades.

Amanda made a chocolate cake with chocolate chips, while Elia, Eva and Lilly decorated it. Scooby Doo and real flowers (Jay accidentally ate a flower!). Should of checked it before he started eating. Oh well, a little nature doesn't kill you.

Renelle got a bit hot and she finally took my advice and got in the shade. She wouldn't let me out of her sight!

Nice picture of me, Renelle and Jay.

Renelle with Elia and her favorite person Amanda (Renelle adores Amanda).

John was even able to join us!

What is going on? I want to go with you (5 feet away from me is too far for Renelle when it is not her choice!)

Renelle and Selena watching Anne Rock out!

Really! PLEASE may I join you! (Now she was 3 feet away).

Yummy ice cream and cake!

I blew them all out! What a big girl I am!

Jay having some fun!

Renelle is getting another belly rub.

A new present!

Thanks everyone for all the birthday wishes, cards, presents and for joining me in celebration! Love and hugs to you all!

Peace!

Childhood musings

Since my 40th birthday is literally a few days away, Jay has been asking a lot of questions about what I liked as a kid from food to TV shows to toys. So I thought I would do some musings here:

Food:
The food I remember most was fried chicken with mash potatoes and brussel sprouts. I remember on all the different holidays, my mom Karen, would make sugar cookies and put frosting on them. For example for St. Patrick's day she made shamrock shaped sugar cookies with green frosting. I also remember we would have hot dogs or bologna sandwiches with Fritos for lunch. I also remember her making sun tea out of Lipton tea. Honey Nut Cherrios was my favorite breakfast cereal and loved it when my dad made his AWESOME Belgian Waffles (from scratch) we would have it with vanilla ice cream and yummy strawberries. Oh! I remember on Fridays, Chris (my older brother, back then he was actually nice to me) and I would make pizza at home and when Dad came home from work we would eat and then go out an get an album (a vinyl that is!).

Now a days my food taste is a bit different as many of you know. However I still love Honey Nut Cheerios, mash potatoes, brussel sprouts, my Dad's AWESOME Belgian Waffles, pizza, and sugar cookies with frosting (I can not make a decent frosting though!) plus much more!

TV Shows and movies:

My very first movie in an actual theater was Disney's Pete's Dragon! I still love that movie, sadly I do not own it. TV shows...hum....I remember Scooby Doo, Bugs Bunny, Mighty Mouse and Green Acres. Funny thing about Green Acres, I can not sit down to watch it without Saltine Crackers! That is because I remember sitting to watch it and my mom Karen, would give me Saltine Crackers as a snack.

Today's favorite shows consist of CSI and others you can find on my Amazon Wish list (the link is on this blog).

Books:
My favorite book as a child was Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss. I also loved the Golden Book The Bunny Story.

Now my favorite author of all times is Jane Austen. I also enjoy Sir Arthur Cohan Doyle and Margery Allingham.

Toys:
Favorite toys as a child were the Little People Play House (I had the School room, and the House - and these were the wooden ones, not the crappy plastic they have today!), Baby Chrissy Doll, Holly Hobbit, and the little stuff animals. :-) I remember may Dad bring home boxes and I would make doll houses out of them and play for hours on the stairs with my little stuff animals...funny I preferred those over Barbie, however I still liked Barbie.

That is all I can remember at the moment, I am sure I will remember more as Jay continues to ask questions.

In the mean time....

Peace!

A Visit to my friend Maureen's in February

Renelle and I had a trip to CCI in Santa Rosa in mid February so Renelle could see Dr. Ruth Daniels, CCI Vet, for help with her weight issues. While we were there we stayed with our friend Maureen, who is the Breeder Caretaker (BC) for Delhi - retired, and Puppy Raiser (PR) to Delhi's daughter from her last litter Shannon. Below are some pictures of the dog's play time and the sweet pack Maureen has at home.

A view from her house.

Renelle playing with Shannon, wow Shannon has grown since October!

Mom Delhi and Daughter Shannon, they look quite a lot a like!

Shannon - Play with me!

Buster-the Alpha - I am a handsome devil and the girls just can't get enough of me.

Zastrow - always pushed Renelle away so he could get petted. Look at those eyes!

The 4 playing again, while Maureen and I tried to watch TV.
